Renee Reaser

Founder and Executive Director

Renee was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, but has lived in Los Angeles, California for over 44 years. After working and volunteering with many different organizations working with at-risk children and youth, for over 25 years, in 2001, she started working at C.U.R.E (Common Unity Reaching Everyone) as a program coordinator and she began working with at-risk girls. Renee is a certified Professional Community Intervention/Prevention Specialist through Maximum Force Enterprise and a Drug Preventions Specialist through the Sheriff's Drug Free Work Prevention program. She has received awards from Project Accountability thorough LAPD, United Peace, Officers against Crime, and the Greater Peace award through Rotary Club 5280. 

Renee created WOMEN in West Athens to empower youth and young women in the community who might be at risk of experiencing violence or getting involved with gangs. Her signature program Beautiful Butterflies, started as an afterschool program in partnership with Duke Ellington High School, Henry Clay Middle School and Helen Keller Park. In Renee's words: "I love my work because I am the voice for there young girls that are in need of the services that our organization can provide that has been long overlooked for years"
